The FPPC Enforcement Division now has the capability to accept electronic payments for penalties through the FPPC website. This will make it faster and more convenient for those who have incurred a fine.

“I’m very pleased that we have updated our practices at the FPPC and can now accommodate debit and credit card payments for fines,” said FPPC Chair Alice Germond. “We are constantly looking for ways to make things simpler, faster, clearer and more convenient for those who serve, and that is precisely what this new process does.”

With this system, Enforcement penalties can be paid via credit or debit card. The system accepts Visa, Mastercard and Discover Card.

You will need:

  • A valid email address to receive notification that the payment has been received.
  • The information from your Visa, Mastercard or Discover Card, including security code.
  • The case number assigned to your case (for your payment to be properly attributed to you).

“Not only will this be more convenient for the person who has incurred a fine and allow them to avoid the hassle and expense of obtaining a cashier’s check or money order, this will also help the Enforcement Division modernize and streamline our payment processing,” said FPPC Enforcement Chief Galena West.

This system is now active. Just go to the FPPC website (fppc.ca.gov) under the Enforcement tab there will be a link called “Pay an Enforcement Penalty.” Click there and you will be ready to put in your information.
